I am a chemist doing testing on water hardness and purchased this product in order to get a quick idea of water hardness before doing a more accurate titration analysis for total hardness.
In my opinion this kit is completely useless has an uncertainty of at least 200 maybe more parts per million.
Even when testing successive known standards containing 0 ppm hardness, and 500 ppm, I could not detect a color change that had any meaningful relationship to the standard colors on the bottom.
