(More customer reviews)If you are a reader of all things natural/healthy hair, Erin Shell Anthony's book Nappturosity is a wonderful additon that will fit perfectly along with your collection.
When I first heard about the book, I thought that it would contain pretty much the same information that I have read in so many other natural hair books that I have read, but I was pleasantly surprised by the book's content.
Why it's unique...
Nappturosity helps you to develop a healthy hair care regime i.e. washing and conditioning, for your specific hair type with step-by-step instructions; it gives detailed information on dietary supplements that not only aid in hair growth but overall health in general, for loc wearers or those contemplating locs - it breaks down all the stages of your loc growth including details for different types of locs i.e. Sisterlocks, Braidlocs etc. (it even gives step-by-step instructions on the latching method); it lists 'support' groups for both loose hair and loc'd naturals - providing site addresses; and much, much more.
So much information is packed in Nappturosity I can see why some reviewers called it the haircare Bible :o)
I love the fact that the author mentions a product or accessory and actually tells you what it's for and where to get it. Her Harmful Ingredient Review chapter is one of my favorites, along with the easy to follow homemade product recipe chapter with detailed descriptions of essential oils and other natural ingredients and what they are used for.
I would categorize Nappturosity as a pocket reference guide for natural hair, because I constantly find myself referring back to it. This book is a definite must-have.

Hands-on Horse Care: The Complete Book of Equine First-Aid Review

(More customer reviews)This book is a life-saver. It's easy to follow instructions make it a must. I especially like the sections that list symptoms and if it says to call your vet immediately, it tells you what to do while you're waiting. The only drawbacks to this book is that the cover doesn't hold up well, and it would be better with color pictures for the toxic plants. I strongly recommend this book if you have horses.

I would lose some weight, only to hit a plateau and stay there. Then I heard about this book and bought it. It was probably the best investment I've made in myself in a long time. Roberta Wennik really put her finger on the problem: one plan is not always right for everyone. So she offers at least four ways for successfully losing weight that never make you feel like you've gone on a diet. Not only that, when you've finished reading this book, you'll have all the tools to live a healthier life. Look at buying this book as an investment in yourself.

The basic idea of Herbal Treasures is to provide activities centered around both the garden and the time of year. Each month is given its own chapter that is chock full of a myriad of suggestions for herbally fun things to do for that month. For instance, June is for brides. Ms. Shaudy's provides everything from wedding gardens to wedding punch, all laced with the rich tradition of herbs. There are so many crafts and recipes that it takes more than a year for most of us to do them all. Herbal Treasures is a wonderful warm book you won't want to put down. Herbal Treasures is the continuation of Ms. Shaudy's previous work The Pleasure of Herbs. The Pleasure of Herbs is also a month to month compendium overflowing with creative herbal excitement.

(More customer reviews)Warm and conversational, Tony Rotondo's writing style immediately captures the reader's interest and attention. He spins and inter-weaves tales of his childhood and his life as a teacher, husband, and father into a lush tapestry of observations and experiences. I had the privilege of sitting in Mr. Rotodo's (or Uncle Tony's as I liked to call him) classes twice, once for 11th Grade English and once for Public Speaking. It may sound trite--and I'd probably get a hand-written comment in the margin of my paper about it (which I'd counter in the next paper with an abundance of flattery)--but Tony's class is where I came to understand myself. There was no where else in high school that I felt more at home than I did in his room. And reading this book made me feel like I was there again. Thanks for the great read and all the great memories Uncle Tony!

It did not have much information that you couldn't figure out yourself, using common sense. I tired quickly of the author's anecdotes, and wished she had more substantial information, such as info on renting/availability of car seats, high chairs, services in different hotels , services provided by airlines, etc. Don't waste your money on this book, unless you are the type that never tires of hearing endearing stories about a stranger's child!
