(More customer reviews)Although the author is a little premature in his prediction, I believe he still hits the mark. I would like to rebut the review by "A Customer". Being a christian you should know that the evangelical church in America is a fractured, near useless organization more interested in their denominational traditions than the mission they are actually charged with. There are various reports but I have read that there are as many as 24,000 christian denominations in existence today. In the ten years since this book was published America has suffered unprecedented natural disasters as well as the greatest attack on American soil in history on 911. Brocato identified the Axis of Evil three years before George W. Bush. If The Church doesn't get it's act together and focus on unity, 911 will look like a dress rehearsal. I'd keep this book handy. It's a great resource.

As a novice, I wanted a comprehensive guide that wasn't too overwhelming. The KISS Guide to Gardening helped me to envision, understand, and prevent possible gardening problems before one bulb had been planted. The chapters on watering problems and too much/too little sun probably saved several dozen of my flowers. I especially loved the chapter on Garden Pests and how to get rid of them. All suggestions encourage natural, organic problem-solvers before other options. The chapters are laid out beautifully and the ease of reference - from the Contents to the chapter color-coding on the page's edges - make this a reference manual I plan to keep forever. There are also breakdowns of plant types and most popular flowers - giving the best case scenarious for each one's growth. Fun bits of trivia and a sense of humor keep this from being too serious. A great find and a great price here at Amazon!

It's funny, powerful and most of all, it gave me hope. My only regret is that I didn't get the book sooner. I am now tumor free, and learning to walk again. Recovery is a long road, but this book WILL help you get there. A must for anyone who wants to survive a brain tumor, but applicable to anyone fighting any type of cancer... (More customer reviews)I love this book, It was the first Symbols book I ever bought and I still find myself looking through it. Sandra Forty shows you a large picture of the symbol, and underneath the symbol gives you a brief caption of what the Symbol means. I have read all the symbols in this book (over 700) and I still find myself reading it thinking "maybe I missed something" Great book to have. A must buy!!

(More customer reviews)This book is very comprehensive, covering health and beauty, home improvements, food, entertaining, gardening, and much more. That's part of its problem, I think. It's just too broad to be of much use. Another problem is they've consulted various experts in each chapter and, inevitably, one person's advice contradict's another's (hang everything in your closet including sweaters to keep it neat; never hang sweaters -- they'll get those pointy things on the shoulders).
Some advice was kind of nifty, such as hints on how to use natural items for cleaning. Some was rather obvious, such as suggesting you run cold water when you run your garbage disposal. Some was just goofy: I'm not going to put avocado in my hair and then rinse it down the drain! I'd need the plumbing section to help me out of that mess!
Check the book out of the library if you're interested. I found a couple of things I could use, but I mostly found it quaint.
