I've been boating and sailing for the 20 years and have been looking for a book like this for a long time. A good reference guide that covers all the main topics of both interior and exterior boat cleaning and detailing. Basically, a book that would help me know which products to use and which techniques to try before I ruin my boat trying to clean it with household cleaning supplies or knowing if the detailer I'm hiring is actually knowledgeable or just some HS kid earning a few extra bucks (but inadvertently damaging my boat in the process). I'm happy to say that this is the book I've been seeking all those years.
For those of you who are boat owners, you know that all boats, regardless of size or type or shape, are expensive to own and maintain and that they are uniquely different from other craft like cars. As a self-professed 'do-it-your-selfer' I generally like to try things myself before I hire someone to do it for me. The Insider's Guide To Boat Cleaning and Detailing is an indispensable book, basically a "how to" and "best of" practical reference book written by a professional boat detailer (yes, they do actually exist) and boater who lives in the sailing mecca of the Pacific Northwest.
While obviously very knowledgeable from 15 years of boat cleaning and detailing she generously shares her hard-earned wisdom in these pages. In my opinion, she's the 'real deal'. When I asked the local boating houses and marine stores for a good detailer, her name was always the first mentioned. Natalie's built a solid reputation for quality, integrity and professionalism up here in a market crammed with fly-by-night 'boat detailers' who are often laid-off auto detailers, washed-up used car salesmen or less than savory characters who actually don't have any real experience with cleaning boats. Believe me when I say I seen them all, most too often for the good of my checking account. Buying this book was a much better investment!
I just wish this book had been published 20 years ago when my gelcoat was still new and teak still in good condition. At least I know what to do now to keep it looking as new as possible while protecting my investment. Buy a copy. You won't be disappointed.

Thisis the only stem-to-stern guide to all aspects of boatcleaning and detailing.
