This book will give you the insights in a very simply way that allows anyone to understand the process of construction. If you want to understand what the engineer will be telling you or describing and even be aware of what they are doing right and wrong, this is the book you want to get. It is full of pictures and great descriptions that is easy to understand and comprehend even with no prior background in the field. Highly recommended!
