The first half of this book was very informative; it covered food additives, macronutrients, vitamins and minerals at a level that gave consumers essential information but was still easy to understand. I felt that the second half of the book failed to meet this standard. It attempted to dicuss nutritional planning but only broadbrushed the subject and seemed somewhat disorganized. If a reader is looking for guidance in planning day to day nutrition then any book by Barry Sears would probably be a better choice.
