GE GXSM01HWW Shower Filter System Review

(More customer reviews)Short Story: I knew there was a lot of chlorine in my water, so I only drink bottled water. Then while I was whining about my hair thinning, a friend says that `Dr. Oz' was on Oprah saying that chlorine and other chemicals in our water can cause thinning hair. Off to Home Depot I went, but they and all other stores were out of just a filter (I didn't need an entire fancy showerhead system). When I finally received this Model in the mail, I screwed it on, turned on the water and the darn thing popped off and broke. I returned by mail it for another one, but that one is very tenuous in its stability. I would highly recommend getting a good solidly made shower head filter. This GE model is cheaply made, which brings up the old adage, "You get what you pay for". I'll let you know if my hair stops falling out later. I'll also let you know when I buy yet another BETTER filter (probably soon).
UPDATE: Two showers later, the entire filter snapped off. Now that didn't last long! I headed out for a GOOD filter head today! I ended up buying the "Culligan WHS-C125 Wall-Mount 10,000 Gallon Capacity Filtered Showerhead, Chrome Finish".

(More customer reviews)I bought this shower head in 2008 because reviewers said it was great for hard water areas. At the time we lived in the high desert in southern california and the water actually made our skin peel and break out. This shower head and timely replacement of the filters worked out great for us. It lasted exactly two years (at the time we paid $43 for it) before the adjustment ring broke. I turned it on recently and water was spraying out all around the ring. Sprite responded to my email quickly and offered for me to send it in for repair.
This shower head has excellent water pressure and the three settings are just what you need without the useless "rain shower" type settings or massage settings so hard that no one ever uses them.

Moen 9601 Choiceflo, 9600 Replacement Filter Review

I searched online and found they changed the filter product number and found it at Amazon.com for the same price I always paid at the store. Another reviewer said it didn't work with his faucet, which is the same kind I have, but I took the chance and ordered it anyway. It works perfectly! Don't let the change in the product's number worry you!

Distiller Charcoal Filters 12pk Review

(More customer reviews)There is only about half the charcoal in each little packet compared to the ones I last bought from Sears (I am using them for a Sears distiller) so I have to use two of them each time which makes them awful expensive for what you get.

Culligan HSH-C135 Level 2 Hand-Held Filtered Chrome Showerhead Review

(More customer reviews)This would be a great product if the part that connects to the shower pipe was made of metal instead of plastic. According to the instructions, you are to use a wrench to put the part on even though you are screwing plastic on to metal. I just used my hands to put the part on and it cracked (even though I used plumbers tape as instructed). I went to home depot to see if I could find a metal replacement for it, but they don't sell them. I did however find a plastic replacement which I purchased for $5. I like the product itself as my skin and hair feels better and soap lathers better, however they could have made the part that screws on to the metal shower pipe METAL instead of plastic. Poor design.

(More customer reviews)This shower head filter has made an enormous difference on my skin and hair. I have terrible eczema and extreme dry skin in the winter--I can't tell you how much money I have spent in my life on body wash, moisturizers, etc. But I think all along my biggest problem was the quality of the water. Now I hardly use any moisturizer and can actually use BAR soap...if you have dry skin or eczema, you should know what a coup this is! I can also see a HUGE difference when I take a shower elsewhere, like visiting my mom's--it feels like I have an itchy sweater on when I don't use the filter!
